Terms of Service
These terms are between you and Meet Buddie L.L.C., a Wyoming limited liability company (“Meet Buddie”, “we”, “us”). They govern access to Meet Buddie, including its website, accounts, group administration, AI features and iMessage service. By using the service, you agree to these terms.
Eligibility and accounts
Meet Buddie is available only to people aged 18 or over. Meet Buddie currently accepts accounts only from administrators who verify a United States phone number. This requirement applies to the administrator, not to every participant in an existing iMessage group. You must provide accurate information and protect your account credentials. Group administrators are responsible for group settings and for sharing the supplied advance warning before adding Buddie to a group chat. Buddie then posts the in-group disclosure, and every current participant must personally reply YES, or YES NO MEMORY to take part without Buddie saving details about them, before Buddie can participate. Bad Buddie’s unfiltered mode requires separate administrator confirmation.
Age review and accounts we believe belong to a minor
If we have reason to believe an account holder or group participant is under 18, we suspend any associated account and pause Buddie in any groups that account created while we review the person’s age. During that review, we stop all product processing of that person’s messages, including generation, memory, awards, personalisation and analytics, in every group they are in. We continue only a narrowly limited crisis-safety check intended to identify an immediate risk of harm. That check may transmit the message to Anthropic and is subject to the provider-side retention described in our Privacy Policy. It continues while the person remains in a group we serve. It is not contingent on the group’s activation state or on the administrator’s remaining message allowance: the crisis-safety check runs before those limits are applied, so it continues when a group is paused or deactivated and when the account has exhausted its message allowance.
Where we have clear reason to believe a participant is under 13, we immediately stop all processing of that person’s messages, including the crisis-safety check, and provide static crisis resources instead without reading or transmitting any new message. Where we confirm an account holder is under 13, we close any associated account and delete their data as described in our Privacy Policy.
Acceptable use
Do not use Buddie to break the law, harass or threaten people, exploit minors, violate privacy, impersonate others, distribute malware, evade platform safeguards, or send messages without valid consent.
Messaging terms
Message frequency varies with group activity. Message and data rates may apply. Consent to receive Buddie messages is not a condition of purchasing another product. Reply STOP to opt out, START to opt back in, or HELP for assistance.
AI-generated content
Meet Buddie is intended only for adults aged 18 or older. Buddie is artificially generated and not human. Companion chatbots may not be suitable for some minors.
Buddie responses are generated by artificial intelligence and may be inaccurate, incomplete or inappropriate. Do not rely on Buddie for medical, legal, financial, emergency or other professional decisions. Group administrators remain responsible for how the service is configured and used.
Buddie messages and sharing
You retain any rights you have in messages and other content you submit.
Meet Buddie does not claim exclusive ownership of replies generated by Buddie. To the extent Meet Buddie owns or may license rights in a message sent by Buddie, every person who receives that message, either directly or as a participant in the group at the time, may copy, display and share Buddie’s portion of the message, including on social media.
This permission applies regardless of whether a recipient in the group has joined Buddie. Granting permission to share a Buddie message does not make that person a user, constitute consent to data processing or give them any other rights in the service.
This permission covers only rights controlled by Meet Buddie. A Buddie message may name or refer to participants, and a screenshot may include their messages, images or personal information. No participant’s privacy, publicity, copyright or other rights are waived. You are responsible for respecting those rights and obtaining permission where the law requires it. Do not share identity-confirmation codes or other security credentials.
Buddie’s generated replies may be inaccurate, incomplete, inappropriate, non-unique or similar to replies generated for other people. We do not promise that a reply is copyrightable, original, non-infringing, accurate or suitable for any particular use.
Meet Buddie retains its rights in the service, software, prompts, personalities, branding, mascot and other product materials.
Subscriptions, renewal and cancellation
Paid plans are subscriptions. Before you subscribe we show you the plan price and the billing interval, and you authorise us to charge your payment method that amount at the start of each interval on a recurring basis until you cancel. Billing and payment processing are handled by Stripe. Current plans bill monthly, and the price and interval that apply to you are the ones shown at checkout.
You can cancel at any time online, from your dashboard under Billing, without contacting us. Cancelling stops the next renewal charge. You keep the plan until the end of the period you have already paid for. There is no cancellation fee and no minimum term. Unless required by law or stated at checkout, fees already charged are non-refundable.
We email a reminder before a renewal charge, and we will tell you in advance of any price change. If a subscription ends or is not renewed, the account returns to the First Sniff limits of 1 group and 50 messages per month. Existing groups and data remain available subject to these terms and our retention practices, but paid plan features and higher limits will no longer apply.
Account and billing notices
We may use Resend to deliver transactional emails to a group administrator, including opt-out alerts and subscription lapse notices. These account and billing notices are separate from marketing communications and are not sent to individual group members.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how information is collected and used, including messaging consent, third-party providers and recipients, retention periods and opt-out handling.
Availability and termination
We may change, suspend or discontinue features and may restrict accounts that create risk, violate these terms or fail to pay applicable fees. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided “as is” to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law. Meet Buddie L.L.C. disclaims implied warranties and limits liability for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, subject to applicable law.
Governing law and venue
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the service will be brought exclusively in the state courts located in Sheridan County, Wyoming, or in the United States District Court for the District of Wyoming, and you and Meet Buddie L.L.C. each consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
